In Chicago ,people for years have been wanting some type of regulation on pits and bully breeds because of all the attacks people hear about in the newspaper or on the tv.People hear about faces getting torn apart, limbs getting torn off.In an incident that happened on January 2nd ,2012 to a man named Joesph Finely. He lost his foot he said “ I lost my foot. They bit it off,”he did say after that comment “I think there should be much more stricter rules for things like this and the owners to be thoroughly, 100% held accountable in every way,” Finley said. “It’s not right at all that you can’t walk outside without the fear of being attacked by wild or vicious animals of this nature.”There are local organizations in Chicago that help rescue pits and help get them adopted for example :chicagolandbullybreedrescue.org,and www.chicagopitbullrescue.org. Even Bryan Bickell the left winger for the Chicago Blackhawks,is a pit bull owner and he even has a foundation for pits that according to his website their mission is to be” Dedicated to creating awareness for the compassionate, loyal, and misunderstood dogs called Pit Bulls, and working with them to assist abused children.”His and his wife website is called http://www.bickellfoundation.org, Bryan’s website even has a page where they show the dogs he has helped rescue and are up for adoption. In addition to the page the Bickell Foundation is working on the help of fighting bullying ,by using bully breed dogs.
